Hallmark Rewards Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions before joining or using Hallmark Rewards. By joining or using the program, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Program overview and eligibility

Hallmark Rewards is Hallmark Australia's loyalty program, designed to reward customers for eligible purchases and selected activities. Members may earn points and redeem them for eligible rewards.

The program is available for purchases made online at hallmark.com.au and at participating Hallmark Australia stores. Participating stores currently include Hallmark Blackburn Square. Store participation, earning and redemption options may vary and will be displayed or communicated at the relevant store.

Membership is free. To join and participate, you must:

  • be an Australian resident;
  • be 18 years of age or older, or have the permission of a parent or guardian;
  • have a registered Hallmark Australia customer account; and
  • provide accurate and current account information.

Hallmark Rewards is for personal and household use only. It is not available for wholesale, commercial resale, bulk purchasing or business purchasing arrangements.

2. Earning points

Members can earn points on eligible purchases made through hallmark.com.au while logged into their registered account, and at participating Hallmark Australia stores when their membership is identified before the transaction is completed.

Points may also be earned through selected account activities or promotions made available from time to time, including account creation, eligible orders and bonus-point offers. The applicable earning rate and conditions will be shown in the Hallmark Rewards experience or promotional offer.

Unless otherwise stated, points are calculated on the eligible product value after discounts have been applied. Points are calculated in whole points and may be rounded down to the nearest whole point.

Points are not earned on:

  • shipping or delivery fees;
  • taxes, duties or government charges that are separately identified;
  • gift card purchases;
  • cancelled, refunded or returned items;
  • online purchases made without being logged into the registered account;
  • in-store purchases where the membership is not identified before the transaction is completed;
  • purchases through third-party retailers, stockists or marketplaces;
  • transactions involving fraudulent, unauthorised or misleading information; or
  • products or transactions expressly excluded from the program or a specific offer.

Points are usually credited after an eligible transaction has been processed. Additional time may be required while an order is reviewed, fulfilled, returned or adjusted.

If an eligible purchase is later cancelled, refunded or returned, the corresponding points will be removed or adjusted. For a partial refund or return, the adjustment will relate to the affected items.

3. Redeeming points and rewards

Members may redeem available points for eligible rewards online at hallmark.com.au and at participating Hallmark Australia stores that support redemption.

For online redemption, members must be logged into their registered account and apply the selected reward at checkout before completing the order. For in-store redemption, members must identify their membership and request the reward before payment is completed.

Available reward types, the points required and any minimum spend, maximum value, product exclusions or expiry date will be shown before redemption. Rewards may include dollar discounts, percentage discounts, free shipping or other stated benefits.

Where the available reward and checkout system allow it, a member may use a reward to cover up to the full eligible product value of a purchase. Any excluded amount, including delivery charges or excluded products, must still be paid using an accepted payment method. No cash or change will be provided for any unused reward value.

Points have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash, sold, transferred to another person, combined across accounts or used outside participating Hallmark Australia channels.

A reward cannot be added retrospectively after a transaction has been completed.

Reasonable redemption limits may apply to a reward or transaction, including limits imposed by the checkout system or stated in the relevant offer. Any applicable limit will be clearly disclosed before redemption.

Rewards cannot be used to purchase gift cards.

4. Using rewards with other offers

Unless a specific offer states otherwise, only one promotional code, credit code or Hallmark Rewards reward may be used per online order. A reward may also be excluded from combination with an automatic discount, sale offer or other benefit where this is disclosed in the relevant offer or at checkout.

Where offers cannot be combined, the member may choose which available offer or reward to apply. Rewards and promotional codes must be used within their stated validity period.

5. Points and reward expiry

Points expire after 36 consecutive months of account inactivity. Account activity means earning or redeeming points, or completing an eligible purchase while the membership is identified. The 36-month period restarts each time qualifying account activity occurs.

A reward created by redeeming points may have its own expiry date. That date will be shown when the reward is issued.

Hallmark Australia will provide reasonable notice before points expire using the contact details associated with the member's account. Members are responsible for keeping those details current and checking their balance and reward expiry dates.

Expired points or rewards cannot be reinstated, except where required by law or where Hallmark Australia determines that an error occurred.

If a member closes their account, unused points, rewards and benefits linked to that account will be forfeited.

6. Referral rewards

Hallmark Australia may offer referral promotions from time to time. The applicable offer terms will explain the points available to the referring member and any benefit offered to the referred customer.

Referral points are awarded only where:

  • the referred customer is new to hallmark.com.au;
  • the referred customer uses the valid referral link or offer;
  • the referred customer completes an eligible purchase;
  • the eligible purchase is not cancelled, refunded or returned; and
  • all conditions of the referral offer are satisfied.

Referral points cannot be earned through self-referrals, duplicate or false accounts, bulk or commercial referrals, or misleading, unfair or fraudulent activity. Hallmark Australia may set a reasonable limit on referral points and may change, pause or withdraw a referral offer by giving notice through the offer or program channels.

7. Account and membership responsibilities

Each customer may hold only one Hallmark Rewards account. Members must keep their account details accurate and secure and should notify Hallmark Australia promptly of suspected unauthorised access.

Hallmark Australia may reasonably suspend an account while investigating suspected misuse. It may cancel an account, remove points or reverse rewards where it reasonably determines that a member has:

  • breached these Terms & Conditions;
  • created multiple accounts to obtain additional benefits;
  • provided false or misleading information;
  • misused the program or an offer;
  • engaged in fraudulent or suspicious activity; or
  • acted unfairly toward Hallmark Australia or other program members.

Before cancelling an account for suspected misuse, Hallmark Australia will consider the available information and, where appropriate, give the member a reasonable opportunity to respond. Unused points or rewards obtained through misuse may be cancelled. These provisions do not limit rights available under applicable law.

8. Program changes or closure

Hallmark Australia may change, pause or end Hallmark Rewards. Changes may relate to earning and redemption methods, reward values, thresholds, rates, expiry rules, referral offers, tiers, benefits, eligible products, participating channels or these Terms & Conditions.

Hallmark Australia will notify members of material changes before they take effect. Notice will be provided by email and may also be published on hallmark.com.au, in the customer account area or through another reasonable program channel. The notice will explain the change and its effective date.

If the program ends, Hallmark Australia will provide reasonable notice and a reasonable period for members to redeem available points, subject to applicable law. After the stated closure date, unused points, rewards and benefits will expire unless the notice states otherwise or the law requires a different outcome.

Points and rewards are not redeemable for cash, and no cash compensation is payable for unused or expired points or rewards, except where required by law.

9. Availability, liability and disputes

Hallmark Australia will take reasonable care in operating Hallmark Rewards. Temporary interruptions, processing delays or technical issues may occur. Where a verified program or system error affects a member's points or reward, Hallmark Australia will take reasonable steps to investigate and correct the account where appropriate.

To the extent permitted by law, Hallmark Australia is not responsible for loss caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, incorrect information supplied by a member, or a member's failure to keep their account secure.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy under any law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

Members should contact Hallmark Australia first with any concern about membership, points or redemption so that the matter can be investigated and resolved.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. The parties submit to the courts of Victoria and courts entitled to hear appeals from them, subject to any rights a member has to bring a claim in another jurisdiction under applicable law.

10. Privacy and program technology

Hallmark Australia handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Information may be used to administer Hallmark Rewards, maintain points and reward balances, communicate with members, prevent misuse and provide program benefits.

Hallmark Rewards may be supported by third-party technology providers, including Smile.io. Hallmark Australia remains responsible for the customer-facing operation of the program. By joining or using Hallmark Rewards, members also agree to the Hallmark Australia website terms, Privacy Policy and any specific offer terms shown when earning or redeeming a reward.
